Delay Occurs When Unlocking Workstation
Sometimes a noticeable delay occurs when the logged on user or an administrator attempts to unlock a workstation. This because when you unlock the workstation Windows NT will update the domain list if the cached list's age exceeds two minutes (by default). This age limit can be modified.
1. Open the registry and find this key and value, if they don't exist already create them.
2. Modify the value of 'DcacheMinInterval' to equal the new cache time-out.
Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: DcacheMinInterval
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 120-86400 (decimal) (expressed in seconds)
