IE8 Loads Pages Slow

Tried Internet Explorer 8? You may be experiencing slow page loading, especially when multiple tabs are in use. Here's a possible fix.

Actxprxy.dll is one of the core libraries for Internet Explorer, along with a few others such as Urlmon.dll and Mshtml.dll. Actxprxy.dll is an ActiveX interface marshaling library. It is used by Windows XP Embedded when marshaling ActiveX/COM object interfaces. Sometimes, the new, updated dll fails to register correctly when Internet Explorer 8, causing the sluggishness issue mentioned earlier. Follow the steps below to possibly repair the problem.

  1. Type cmd in the Start menu Search box.
  2. Right-click the Cmd shortcut that appears at the top of the search results list, Under Programs.
  3. Choose Run As Administrator.
  4. In the Command Prompt window, enter this text and press Enter:
    regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

This will work on Vista and Windows 7.
